blocks, quilts, and cats...

I got my Moda Modern Building block quilt out again and started working on it.  I have about 13 blocks done.  Out of 48.  :)  I put this one off for several months because I really despise flying geese, but this is my favorite block so far!!  It measures 18'x18'.

A friend's father passed away suddenly earlier this year.  Since there is really nothing I can do to help besides provide dinners and a listening ear, another friend and I decided to make matching quilts for her and her mother (who's husband it was).  This was a great man who held his family together.  He was also one of the first families Nate met when he came out on his mission.  He enjoyed doing service with him and helping him out on the farm.    This pattern has a tan background and variations of reds in  print/floral/plaid as the circles.  Very colonial colors/ Americana more like it. :)  I love the pattern and will probably make another one in my colors.

Putting fabric on the floor is an open invitation for a cat to appear.   It's science.

Here is another close up of the prints that were in the charity quilt for Ovarian Cancer relay for life in memory of Barbara.  I loved this project too.  I love all my projects. :)
